Is the price I see here the price I pay?
The figures on a model page are what we charge for that part and the work on that model. The final cost is confirmed after a technician has opened the machine and found the actual fault — a flickering screen is sometimes a cable rather than a panel, and that changes the price in your favour.
What does the diagnosis cost?
Nothing. We test the machine and tell you what it needs whether or not you go ahead, and there is no fee if you take it home again.
Why do some repairs say "quoted after diagnosis"?
Because the part depends on what is actually inside your machine. Two laptops with the same model number can take different panels or different boards, so we price those after we have looked rather than publishing a figure that might be wrong.
My model is not in your list. Can you still fix it?
Yes. Choose "describe it instead" in the form above and tell us what you have. We repair far more than we keep published model pages for.
How long does a repair take?
It depends on the work and whether the part is on the shelf. We tell you when we give you the quote, so you know before you commit.
Do you do board-level work, or only parts?
Board-level, in our own workshop. Component repair on a mainboard is often cheaper than replacing the board, and we quote both when both are possible.
